Lyrical Collage
"The tree has entered my hands,
The sap has ascended my arms,
The tree has grown in my breast -
Downward,
The branches grow out of me, like arms.
Tree you are,
Moss you are,
You are violets with wind above them.
A child - so high - you are,
And all this is folly to the world. "
Ezra Pound
I wanted everything to be a violet hue, so I included the background image of a sunset because of the strong violets, and complementary colors. I chose to do "multiply" for many of my images because I wanted it to seem ethereal I chose branches to represent the trees, and laid them over the girls face so it would seem she was trapped in them. The large violet in the background again echos the violets. The girls face itself is of a traditional cameo, and I painted it violet, with a purple fill.
